Welcome to the Kankakee County Clerk of the Circuit Court Website

The Circuit Clerk position is an elected one, voted on by the people of Kankakee County. It is a constitutional office and part of the 21st Judicial Branch of Illinois, including Iroquois County. Our offices are located in the Kankakee County Courthouse.

As the official record keeper of the court files, the circuit clerk is part of the administrative arm of the judicial branch of government. We also collect fines and assessments ordered by the court, to be disbursed accordingly.

Kankakee County Circuit Clerk Case Management System conversion to Tyler Enterprise Justice

Kankakee County Circuit Clerk office went live with a new court case management system – Tyler Enterprise Justice – on
September 23, 2024. All in all, the transition has been a smooth one.
With one exception.
As part of this implementation, we installed a new public-facing website that will provide information to members of the
public and legal community, sharing basic case information such as hearing dates, etc.
This public facing website is called Portal. The Portal is currently being tested internally by Kankakee staff. The “live”
site is anticipated to be available in early November.
As an interim solution, we are setting up public access to case information at the Courthouse in Room 209. Room 209
will be open and available on weekdays during regular court hours.
We appreciate your patience as we work to provide this critical legal information to our community. We apologize for
the inconvenience and are working hard to get the new Portal up and running quickly.
For any other questions, please call 815-936-5700.
